The daiquiri was first recorded in the late 19th-century in a Cuban mining town of the same name. The drink became popular in the 1940s when wartime rationing made whiskey hard to come by.
1.5 oz Cane Run Estate Rum
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 tsp of superfine sugar
Shake all the ingredients together with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Make sure to shake well so the sugar dissolves. For an added touch run the lime around the rim of the glass then sprinkle with extra sugar! Garnish with a slice of lime.
