The daiquiri was first recorded in the late 19th-century in a Cuban mining town of the same name. The drink became popular in the 1940s when wartime rationing made whiskey hard to come by.
2 oz Cane Run Rum
0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.75 oz Simple Syrup
Shake all the ingredients together with ice and strain into a chilled glass. For an added touch run the lime around the rim of the glass then sprinkle with extra sugar! Garnish with a slice of lime.
